All week long with elton john.

last year on my 'print room induction' i did a little book of screen prints for every day of the week. i found a lyric about all seven days from seven different elton songs. this one is my favourite. i might put the others up another time.

JULY-SEPTEMBER 2009. x

'Journeys are nothing more than a pile of plane tickets, bus stubs, restaurant bills, unused anti-diarrhea tablets, dirty laundry and a roll of undeveloped film awaiting recollection of still memories to remind us that we are all strangers all yearning for a connection.'
(i found this quote on a postcard)
some things i have left to remind me of 2 months, 10 countries, 7 currencies, 2 lost inter-rail tickets and a million good things.

& now for some cards.

some more bits and bobs to sell at the GOWER ARTS exhibition this friday (3rd Dec).
A hand-full of seagulls, cows, three cliffs and Pennard castle scenes. All done with the help of my friend the sewing machine......lovely.

THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT

this is the other piece i did for the diastr exhibition. butterflies are all made out of bank notes......(and copies)

'it is said that the smallest movement of a butterflies wing can have a catastrophic impact on disastrous events.

The term 'butterfly effect' came from Edward Lorenz's 'chaos theory', in which he suggests that a flapping wing of the most fragile of creatures has the potential to create tiny changes in the atmosphere that may ultimately alter, delay or accelerate the occurrence of a tornado in a certain location. This theory is relevant, not only when talking about environmental disasters, but with social disasters such as the recent credit crunch. Certain choices made by a small amount of people has created a big amount of debt, unemployment and unhappiness for many.'

DIASTR exhibition (brighton)

and here it is all together.

HANDS FREE LOVE.

here is the rest of the illustrations (and words) i showed in the DIASTR exhibition yesterday.

FACES SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS

this was a group project i did with Lorna-anus-scobie, Joe-led-vass and Sophie-nut-O'connor. We each drew part of the face in 8 different ways and mixed them up to make as many expressions.
it got a bit complicated after that with alphabets, fonts and some coded messages....but you can forget that and just enjoy the faces.

i'm making sheep again. They are for the Gower Arts exhibition in Swansea at the beginning of december (which is too CLOSE!) i will not be able to make it there myself but my little friends will be representing me.

HANDS-FREE LOVE

i will put the rest up after the weekend.
